Golfing at Kingsbarns is a definite must if you are heading to the St Andrews area. Kingsbarns golf links is located about 7 miles outside of the town of St Andrews and hugs the North Sea Coastline for about 2 miles. Each hole provides stunning views of the sea so make sure you have your camera or phone well charged as you will be taking lots of pictures.
Golf has been played on the land at Kingsbarns since 1793 but it has been redesigned by Kyle Phillips and reopened in 2020 to the course we know today. It is a true championship course and has hosted the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship since 2001 and also hosted the Ricoh Womens Open in 2017.
The welcome you receive as you arrive at Kingsbarns is second to none. You are met by a team of staff who are willing and eager to assist you and make you feel welcome. The clubhouse is small but offers a great Pro-shop, restaurant and nice plush changing rooms where you can change before and after your round.
The starter will keep you right on the first tee and advise you of the best tees to play from to make your day most enjoyable. The course is spectacular and challenging but rewarding with immaculate fairways and true greens and of course immense views. There is a halfway house serving great food and beverages between 9th and 10th hole where you can grab a snack and refreshment for the back nine. The signature hole is the par 3, 15th hole, located right down at the shoreline. You have to clear the sea to make the green! Truly a memorable hole!
After golf make sure you stop by the clubhouse for a delicious bite to eat. The staff are amazing and will ensure that you are well fed and provide you with a first class service.
